Crazy busy times ask for late posts but I’m sure that if it involves some colorful pictures of an amazing day in my partly beloved city – Brussels – with live acts from Psy4 de la Rime to Jessie freakin’ J!!!, you don’t really mind all this lateness. Honestly, this festival couldn’t come at any better time. I’d just returned from oh so sunny and hot Barcelona and I was bummed, bummed I tell ya… Luckily, I brought a little bit of sun with me and enjoyed a wonderful day in Tour & Taxis with my friends. I was so focused on seeing Jessie J perform live that I totally forgot to look at some other names. So hearing the familiar voice of rapper Soprano was kind of a surprise for me. Together with his buddies they performed their awesome Psy4 de la Rime tracks, with an occasional Niggas in Paris here and there. Afterwards Nas was up. I was convinced I knew this dude. Stuck between way too tall people, I caught myself not knowing his songs, not any single one of them. I didn’t really mind, because my tummy was calling for some food… A few calamares, feta pieces and olives richer, we hurried back to the Titan stage, where – believe me when I say this – all the MAGIC happened. Yes, the beats of Magic System made even my non-franko friend dance :D Yes, you Jilx! But it wasn’t over yet… We still had the pleasure to enjoy every single hit by Jessie J!!! I yelled, I screamed, I sung my longs out… I was soooo happy! Especially when all of a sudden, she started to sing Climax, which apparently… SHE WROTE! Gosh dude, you’re beyond awesome!

I actually got the opportunity to go to Couleur because of s.Oliver but I feel kind of bad, because I wanted to wear this cute white dress they had sent me, but turns out it was a bit too long for my taste… I hope my super mom can fix that problem other festivals such as Pukkelpop, another crazy day with Lykke Li, Jamie Woon, Sam Sparro, Two door cinema club and many many more! But first: Tomorrowland! s.Oliver also sent me this cute top with cut off shoulders which I really like and I think I might wear it to dance around crazy on the beats of the mysterious festival!

Going to South Africa was never on my to do list but about a year ago, my boyfriend won this amazing trip to swim with sharks during a 5 day trip in Cape Town. Of course, we wouldn’t go to South Africa just for one thing, so we decided to extend our trip and do a safari trip and 2,5 days of boredom (that wasn’t the plan intentionally but oh well). So a year later, on July 1st, we took the plane and off we were.

I didn’t know what to expect from this country. I had been to a far away destination before – the Philippines back in 2010 – but that was totally different. Twelve hours of flying later, we arrived in Cape Town Airport. After a quick nap in the lovely hotel, we wanted some lunch so we just walked in the city. The weird thing for me was that Cape Town doesn’t have its own ‘Grand Place’ (Brussels) or Placa Catalunya (Barcelona), so we didn’t really know where to go. We did hear that the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront was quite popular and a must see, so we went there. It’s kind of a mall and meeting point with a view of Table Mountain and the harbor, quite nice in other words! We were a bit overwhelmed by all the boat trips they had to offer so we decided to go sky high, with a helicopter!

Mister William, pilot on duty, showed us Cape Town from up above, which was so beautiful but still weird, since we didn’t actually know what was beneath us. Luckily we had the time to explore it for a few more days. Afterwards we had dinner at the Waterfront, with all the beautiful lights of the harbor in the background.

I kept thinking: ‘I’m in Cape Town, South Africa… how cool is that?!’

Barcelona diaries: Jeffrey, a burger & some fresh hair

Let’s pick up where we left off: Barcelona! I still wanted to share these pictures with you before starting with my South African diaries! I’ve chosen not to blog because the internet in our hotel wasn’t very cooperative and well, I was on holiday, so I needed a break from everyday life… But I’m back now and got lots of things to share with you, believe me!

The first two pictures were taken on one of the first nights, when we went for drinks. I wore my sister’s Litas and I’ve got to say: they’re easy to walk in! My feet did hurt a bit because it had been a long time I wore heels that high. The following pictures were taken the last night out, when we went for a delicious burger at Kiosko! I was kind of fed up with my hair and my sister said to try something different, so we did, on the spot. I kind of like my hair that way, if only it would stay like that! You like?

That’s it for the trip to Barcelona in june, wait until you see the next one! On the agenda for the following weeks: South Africa diaries, DIY, Hotspots, Couleur Café review, a giveaway and I’ll try to snap some outfits along the way. Are you with me?
